What is the SCPA?
The South Carolina Pawnbrokers’ Association (SCPA) is the unified voice of the Palmetto State’s pawn industry – providing education, advocacy, and networking opportunities for its members.
Aside from educating the public to constantly improve the industry’s image, the SCPA works with state regulatory and legislative decision-makers to speak against regulations that could limit the industry’s ability to compete in a free market and promotes policies that increase fair and open commerce among pawnbrokers and consumers.
Who is the SCPA?
SCPA members are pawn businesses across South Carolina from large multi-location businesses to single store pawnbrokers. Some members are new to the industry while others are in their third or fourth generation in operation.
Why Should I Join the SCPA?
Compliance with state laws and regulations is becoming more difficult as they keep changing. The SCPA tracks developments that can impact the pawn industry and provides members with the information they need to become engaged the policy process and remain a viable, thriving industry that has existed for more than 3000 years.
